Casanovas Restaurant

Such a charming ambiance. It is still the restaurant we recommend to visitors. We usually go for lunch to keep the cost down.

August

Bill loves the Moules Frites. Our Grandson swears the Cannelloni is fantastic. I tasted the Gnocchi Casanova on the Carmel Food Tour and believe me …….Delicious.

I love eggs and omelets and if I ask nicely, the waiter can often get the kitchen to prepare one for me.

It is located in the former home of Aunt Fairy Bird who was once the cook for Charlie Chaplin .

Take time to wander through all the different rooms.

We usually go to Forge in the Forest because of the wonderful dog patio, but would love to try Casanovas, and understand they are dog friendly. Will definitely go there next time. Thanks for your comments and charming pictures.

      Hi Annie
Thanks for the comment. A lot has happened to me since our last message. I am posting a bit again. 1 1/2 years ago our daughter was diagnosed with rare cancer. she lost her fight after six months. She was 47 and left behind a loving husband and her twin sons- then 16 years old. I am trying to climb back into life again.

Oh, Linda. Words fall short of expressing the sorrow I feel for your loss. In reading your blog today, I felt something was different. A certain spark was not there. There are many words and platitudes that could be said, but I just hope you will cherish all the good memories, and hug those twin boys and the loving husband like never before. Your daughter will always be with you and has left you a beautiful legacy. I will be thinking of you with healing prayers for you and your family. xoxo Annie

I’m so glad you’re blogging again! Nice to have someone with a “home town” outlook; things I often don’t see or at least take a long enough look when driving by.

Cassanova’s is one of our favs too. We try and stay away from Carmel itself during the day, but dinners are wonderful and the ambience is uniquely Carmel. Actually I had to drive through Carmel today to get home (the road and tree work is a necessary evil as you know, esp. this year) and it’s just such a pretty little place. Thanks for always bringing a bit of joy and glad you’re back!!!!

The best dining experience I ever had was at Casanova. It is a wonderful restaurant.
