CARMEL’S “GOLDEN HOUR”

“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.”

― Jo Walton

Carmel enjoys glorious sunsets. The last hour of sunlight each day is  a “ golden” or “magic” hour.

“I love to be here at the beach to watch the sunset – the greatest performance of Nature.  Like in a theater, but it’s free.”

I would be at the windows in a front row seat.

It is no wonder that poets wax rhapsodic about this daily event.

Lovely reminder to take the few minutes out of our day to appreciate the glories of a perfect sunset. By the way, ours here last night was amazing, though glimpsed through trees and over rooftops in our city neighborhood.

For over a year now, I have looked forward to every new post. It’s such a treat to open my mail and see a new entry. I live in central Illinois and especially at this time of the year when snow covers the ground and the sun rarely shows its face, I love to look at your beautiful pictures and dream of one day visiting your area.

Perfect! There is so much beauty in Carmel of every type. But, the ever present one, no matter the time of day, is the natural beauty that makes it such a magical place! You always capture it so wonderfully!

Whenever I’m in Carmel I always wonder how anyone can bear NOT to be on the beach at sunset, and stay for the orange glow that lingers….or moonlight on the water at night, especially when clouds drift across the moon and sharp white light falls on the breaking waves. Thank you for putting it all into words so beautifully.

Breathtaking images accompanied by a narrative as ardent as a love letter. That’s almost as good as being there.

This must be paradise! Such breathtaking photographs and beautiful words to accompany.
Thank you for sharing, that we may all have a glimpse of such beauty.

What a wonderful and superb post Linda ! I am in awe ! Wow ! Wow ! Wow ! 🙂
Oh ! and I noticed the horizon and the rule of thirds, your photos are perfect in that regard. You’re right, the photos are much more interesting to look at than if the horizon was in the middle.
    My favourites are # 4, 7, 9, 11, 13(sooo beautiful), 15(magnificent), 16(superb), 18(wow!), 22(so unique and special) and the last one(amazing colours).
