Fairy tale cottages are not everyone’s “cup of tea”. Carmel encourages architectural diversity. And that diversity is what keeps my head spinning when I take my walks.

I watch a stunning remodel take place across from Tor House

on Carmel Point.

The two homes could not be more different – each delightful -each with ocean views.

Renovatio is originally built in 1976 and remodeled in 2011. Unlike the tight budget for our remodel, here no expense was spared.

The “lawn” of grasses compliments the spare design.

The patios interconnect.

The home is featured in the Pine Cone and I am thrilled to get a look at the smashing interior.  What a wonderful feeling of light and space.

An elegant “living room”

Flows into a “formal dining area”

And an informal dining area

All anchored by this kitchen with limestone counters

And custom cabinetry.

There are two bedrooms and two baths downstairs.

Now lets climb the stairs

Where a loft overlooks the living room.

It has a seating area with books and TV

And a compact office.

The master bedroom is designed to WOW with its candlelit headboard,

Table for eating breakfast in bed ( when are those Eggs Benedict coming??)

And TV over the fireplace.

The master bath is equally dramatic.

From up here I get a bird’s eye view of the patio and its plantings.
